Cooped up in a Cave
Keeping busy
Shelter-in-Place now for my 8th week. The first few weeks were difficult; I learned that I could limit anxiety by planning out my free time. Just the simple GCal reminder that pops up on my phone at 5pm to tell me to do some exercise has changed my mental health.
I make sure that lunch is at 12pm (midday) for at least 30 minutes. I share this with my partner, and we make an effort to sit together and discuss our days. We mostly cook real meals, so it changes my frame of mind from workworkwork to, “I’m going to make an enormous sandwich.”
My favorite meal right now is egg salad. It reminds me of my childhood, parties with my “older family” and hoarding the egg-cress sandwiches that were cut into tiny triangles.
Hope you’re having a wonderful day. Be mindful that we’re still alive, not having a job won’t kill us. Living in the woods ain’t so bad; a cave is shelter and I have plenty of fur to keep me warm. I can afford to lose 200lbs from my 600lbs (average Grizzly weight, google it).
Find something that brings you joy, be selfish. I play way too much video games and watch a lot of anime.
Much love.
